Cremations are generally much less expensive than traditional funerals and burials. No ornate, expensive casket is required; no grave liner is needed and no headstone is needed. Since the casket is generally the most expensive part of the funeral, you can save a huge amount of money. Not to mention with cremations, a funeral service, which can also be expensive, is optional and not required.
